  What an exciting treat we all got to have today! Mrs Dickins and some children prepared and cooked us a delicious curry using some of the ingredients that Mrs MacLauchlan brought back from India. These include a samba powder, a green vegetable called a drum stick and turmeric in addition to mango, onion and coriander. The whole school got to taste it. The purpose of doing this was to give our pupils the opportunity to experience the kind of meal the children in India eat every lunch time.

• New Arrivals!!

  On Monday we have had an exciting delivery to Westfield and it has been safely delivered to class 10! We now have...

                                        10 EGGS

  They are in an incubator keeping warm until they hatch. What do you think will be inside?

  The eggs are being looked after by Miss Johnson and Class 10, I hope they are all being very quiet so they hatch out soon.

  Keep looking at the school website for more information and the latest updates. It is so exciting!

   

  Update: Just before lunchtime on Wednesday one of the chicks hatched out from its egg!! It looks like one its friends are also about ready to hatch too! 

  

• WISA Westfield Bake-Off

  Well done to everyone who entered the WISA Westfield Bake Off! Yesterday the hall was full of delicious looking cakes. Some of the creations were simply amazing and it was great to see how proud everyone was of their efforts. 

  We were very fortunate to have an expert to carry out the judging. Many thanks to Kate from The Bake Well Tart who spent most of the day tasting slithers of  the cakes and had the very difficult task of selecting the winners!

  Everyone was a winner in that all those who entered received a certificate and enjoyed taking part in the event.

  All the children and adults who visited the hall also had the opportunity to take part in the Public Vote which was very exciting and a lesson in life!

  Once again WELL DONE to all those who entered.

  Finally a big thank you to those entrants who donated their cakes for us to distribute to various charities. They were much appreciated and it was a lovely gesture.
