  • Last day of Term Assembly

    Fri 21 Dec 2018

Today we had out last assembly of this school term and this year!

We started off by singing some well known Christmas songs.  We knew which one we were going to sing because Mrs MacLauchlan always has a headband to match!  We sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Jingle Bells and When Santa got Stuck up the Chimney.  Brilliant singing everyone.

Then all the teachers came out and told us who had won the Design a Christmas Jumper competition in their class.  All of the teachers said how difficult it was to choose just one winner as everyone who entered had done such a fabulous job!  Well done to everyone who won.

Next some of the staff had a bit of a surprise as they were asked to go on stage and help with the actions to the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Mrs MacLauchlan then started off the WISA Christmas raffle.  What fantastic hampers!  There were some very happy winners. Thank you to everyone who supported WISA by buying tickets and to WISA members for your hard work.

We ended the assembly with Year 1 & 2 singing Give a Little Time from their Christmas play and Reception singing Away in a Manger which helped to remind us all what the reason for the season is.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

  • EYFS Christmas Party

    Thu 20 Dec 2018

What a fabulous time Classes 1, 2, 3 and 7 pupils have had this afternoon! Wearing the spectacular reindeer headgear (which is unfortunately not available in shops to buy!) pupils thoroughly enjoyed playing party games which included musical bumps, musical chairs, Christmas stations and of course no party would be complete without pass the parcel. It was super to see pupils showing resilience and fairness whilst playing the games. A surprise visitor appeared with a special delivery of… presents for each class!

We sang When Santa got stuck up the chimney and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to Santa, which he loved. We thanked him for our presents and then made sure he had one which could be found underneath the Christmas tree in the hall.

The party continued in each transformed classroom with Santa napkins, special Christmas lunch boxes which included a healthy selection of party food and a treat.

What a wonderful party we all had! Happy Christmas EVERYONE!

  • Assembly

    Thu 20 Dec 2018

Today we had a busy assembly making sure all the 6th and 7th birthdays from the beginning to the end of December were celebrated.

Mrs MacLauchlan read out a letter she had received from the University of Leicester thanking everyone who had made a starfish for their exhibition at the New Walk Museum and one lucky pupil won a prize for her starfish - Well done!

Next the Letterbox Gang got their Christmas parcels (they looked very exciting) and then Miss Hamilton and Mrs Lunn presented Mudbuster booklets to all the children who have just completed their sessions.  What a great way to remember all the things they have learned.

Mr James gave out certificates to everyone who had attended the after school multi-sports sessions, which they can also share with their parents/carers who came and did a session too.

Finally Miss Johnson presented the Junior Librarians with certificates to thank them for all their hard work this term.  Thank you Junior Librarians for keeping our library so spick and span!

  • Year 2 Christmas Party

    Tue 18 Dec 2018

This afternoon, Year 2 had their exciting Christmas party!

We played some party games like pass the parcel, musical statues and some team work games. Afterwards we enjoyed dancing to some of the songs from our Christmas Performance before having a surprise visit from Santa! He was very jolly and kindly gave out class presents. Santa loved joining in with some festive singing.

After all the excitement of meeting Santa, we went back to our classrooms and enjoyed a tasty treat with all our class friends.

We were very lucky because Santa came to visit us again in our classrooms to give us a very important message.

Can you remember what the important message was?

He told us to be in bed and asleep at a sensible time on Christmas Eve as he is very busy visiting all the houses around the world!

Well done children, great behaviour during the afternoon and a huge 'thank you' to all the grown-ups for sending in food, you helped make it all possible.

Enjoy having a look at the photos below and seeing how much fun we had!

  • Year 1 Christmas Party

    Mon 17 Dec 2018

The Year 1 Christmas Party was packed full of fun, games and laughter. First of all the children enjoyed a game of pass the parcel in which they showed great co-operation. This was followed by dancing! The children performed each others  dances from the Christmas Play, they were all fantastic and it was great to see.

We then moved onto singing a variety of Christmas songs including 'Jingle Bells', 'When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney', 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' and 'Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer'. The singing was fantastic and Santa was clearly very impressed.

He was so impressed he decided to hand out our class Christmas presents! We took these back to the classrooms and opened them with great excitement, inside was a variety of exciting board games that we can't wait to use.

Finally we sat down as a class and enjoyed lots of lovely party snacks whilst listening to Christmas songs and talking to our friends. Thank you to the Year 1 parent/carers for being so generous and sending in all the party food.

  • Class 7 Christmas Party

    Fri 14 Dec 2018

What a fantastic time we had!

Yesterday was the Class 7 Christmas party and we had the chance to play lots of games together and get very festive. All the children made a hat and they looked brilliant.

Before we started the dancing it was our turn to deliver the post to the rest of the school. we sorted ALL of the post and delivered it to the right class.

After that busy job we started the party games. We played pass the parcel and musical statues and we had lots of fun. Our friends from Year 3 came to join us too...what a treat!

After we had finished our dancing we all had a great time at the buffet table. It was delicious!

Can you tell your grown ups your favourite part of the party?

Well done children, you were so well behaved!
