  • Year 1 Visit the Local Library

    Mon 29 Sep 2014

On Monday, all Year 1 children visited the local Library. The Librarian shared with us all the exciting activities and resources available from the library, including a wide range of Fiction and Non-Fiction books, talking books, DVDs and access to computers and the Internet. The children found out that we had come 3rd in the Summer Reading challenge, an improvement on last year - Well done!

We listened to some fantastic stories and then explored the Library for ourselves.

Thank you to all parents who came and supported us! Please remember that all books borrowed today need to be returned in three weeks time.

  • Class 8 Assembly - Sunflowers

    Fri 26 Sep 2014

Class 8 treated us all to a fantastic assembly all about Sunflowers.

They showed us lots of interesting facts about Sunflowers including showing us a MASSIVE scale drawing of the tallest sunflower we managed to grow at school.  They also treated us to two songs about sunflowers.

    Well done Class 8!

  • Mrs Bone visits Year 1

    Thu 25 Sep 2014

Today, Mrs Bone came into school to tell us about how she looks after Samuel, her 4 month old baby.

The children listened really well as Mrs Bone told them about how often she feeds and changes Samuel. Mrs Bone told us that it was very important to keep things sterile (clean and germ-free), especially the baby bottles so that he wouldn’t get ill.

Children learnt about how much sleep Samuel needed and that when he was sleeping, Mum was able to do other jobs as well as look after herself too!

At the end, we asked her questions to find out even more fascinating facts about what it is like to look after a baby!

Well done children for listening so well and a huge 'Thank you' to Mrs Bone for coming in to share with the children!

  • Community Gardening Event!

    Thu 11 Sep 2014

A big thank you to all the parents/carers, staff and governors who came to help at the Community Gardening Event. It was the perfect weather and everyone worked very hard!

As you can see from the photographs the Trim Trail and the Sensory Trail are both looking a lot smarter! Team work made all the difference.

If there are any willing adults who could spare an hour or so a week Mrs Ratcliffe would like to run a Grounds Maintenance Session on a Friday morning from 9.00 a.m.

This would help us to keep on top of the work that needs doing around the school grounds. If you are able to help please meet Mrs Ratcliffe in the Trim Trail on Friday 19 September.

  • Wedding News from Mr Maksymiw!

    Fri 05 Sep 2014

This morning during assembly we found out about the special day in July when Mr Maksymiw married Charlotte. You will see from the photographs that Mr Maksymiw came in his wedding suit today but he did find it a bit hot in the tweed jacket!

Charlotte very kindly let Mr Maksymiw bring some special things in for us to look at, including her veil! We were also pleased to see that the special Groom Bear we gave to Mr Maksymiw was with him in the wedding car!

It was great for us all to share this special day with Mr Maksymiw and we sent a big thank you to Charlotte for allowing him to bring the veil into school!
