  • Year 1 Moon Zoom Display

    Wed 28 Nov 2018

Year 1 had a very special visitor this afternoon...Mrs MacLauchlan!

Mrs MacLauchlan travelled around the Year 1 classrooms to have a look at our fantastic space vehicles. The space vehicles were all created at home as part of the Year 1 Moon Zoom homework and are out of this world!

The children really enjoyed showing off their creations and were able to talk through the designing, creating and making process. Thank you to all those parents and carers that supported the learning at home, please look through the photos to spot yours or to be inspired by others.

    Quick Questions....

Can you name all the planets in our solar system in the correct order?

Who was the first person on the Moon?

Which planet has a raging storm?

Well done all on such a fantastic effort.

  • Multi-Sports Parent/Carer Session

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

It is always great to see parents/carers turn up to join in with the Multi-Sports fun! The children have been building on previous skills learnt such as: Hand eye co-ordination; balance; speed and agility. The children have been able to use these skills during fun and active games.  They have even had the chance to create their own games.

It was a fantastic chance for the children to be able to showcase all that they have learnt during the past few weeks and play fun and competitive games including an assault course race with their adults.

Please take a look at the photos below.

  • Bible Presentation

    Thu 22 Nov 2018

This morning the children in the Reception classes and any children new to the school since our last Bible Presentation received a Bible with their name in.

It was a special assembly because Malcolm came and presented a Bible to each child. The Bibles will be kept in the classrooms and the children can look at the pictures and read the stories. As the children move through the school their Bible will go with them and at the end of Year 2 they can take their Bible home.

We are very grateful to The Bible for Schools scheme that supports us in providing each child with a Bible. As you can see from the photographs the children were very pleased and they were very good at remembering their manners and saying Thank You!

  • Children in Need Assembly

    Fri 16 Nov 2018

Today we all got to bring our special friends to assembly with us.  They all followed the Golden Rules really well.

Mrs MacLauchlan told us about Children in Need and how the money we raise helps to support children in the UK who need our help.

We watched a short video showing us some of the children the money raised in previous years has helped.

The school council collected all of our class buckets and took them to Mrs Babic ready for counting - we have raised a fantastic £257.71.  Thank you all for your contributions.

  • WISA Children In Need Disco

    Thu 15 Nov 2018

Today we had the WISA Children in Need Disco after school. All the children had the opportunity to stay after school and they could change into their own clothes. We had a great selection of Pudsey themed outfits as well as other exciting characters!

As you can see from the photographs everyone had a great time dancing and playing games.

A big thank you to the WISA members who prepared the drinks and snack and also tidied away. A huge thank you to BJ the DJ who worked very hard to make sure everyone had a GREAT time!

The amount raised will be shared at the next WISA meeting.

  • Class 10 Assembly - Children in Need

    Thu 15 Nov 2018

We are supporting Children in Need !

Class 10 based their assembly around Children in Need, emotions and how they support others.  As a class we discussed various emotions and how we deal with these emotions. All the pupils were fantastic at talking about their emotions and suggesting ways of dealing with them.

At Westfield Infant School we did all we can to support Children in Need including a class assembly, school disco and fundraising on the Friday. It is important to help and support those less fortunate than you and the children at Westfield Infant School really do understand this. A big well done to class 10 and the rest of the school.

Thank you to those parent/carers who were able to come into school to see the assembly. If you couldn't make it or wish to view it again you can see it here

  • Friendship Afternoon

    Wed 14 Nov 2018

To celebrate anti-bullying week we held a friendship afternoon. This year's theme is 'Choose Respect' which is also one of our British values. We started the afternoon thinking about what choosing to respect one another looks like at school, at home, in the playground and throughout life.

Can you explain to your grown ups what respect means and how you show respect to others?

We spent the rest of the afternoon working together with new friends from a mixture of reception, year 1 and year 2 classes. We played games and were creative together. We all had a fantastic afternoon and we will work hard to show respect to others at all times.
