    Fri 31 Mar 2017

What a lovely afternoon we had. We went on an Easter pattern hunt, we made Easter bunnies, played Easter games and we even made bunting for the classroom and it looks amazing!

All the children were very well behaved and we all had lots of fun and enjoyed learning with the visitors. The adults at school were all very impressed.

Thank you to all the grown ups who joined us for Easter Crafts. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon. Remember to leave a message on Guestbook to tell us what you thought to the afternoon

  • Friday Assembly

    Fri 31 Mar 2017

This morning we had a busy assembly! As well as the Birthday celebration and certificates we also celebrated the end of the Spring Term Mud Buster programme.

Miss Hamilton then introduced the Great British Spring Clean and explained what we would be doing during the first part of the morning. It was great that so many adults joined us and that the school grounds are now looking so smart!

    Today everyone took part in...

                               The Great British Spring Clean

Many people throughout the UK have taken part in this initiative to clean up and look after our environment.

We all had sponges, clothes, brushes and rakes and we all worked together to ensure our environment was clean and litter free. The children all worked extremely hard and were very proud of how clean they made the school look.

Well done to all the children and adults at school. Keep up the good work and keep cleaning!

  • Thank you and Goodbye to Marion Macmillan

    Wed 29 Mar 2017

Today in assembly, we said "Thank you and Goodbye" to Marion Macmillian. For 13 years, Marion was responsible for organising and delivering the Family Learning Programmes at Westfield Infant School. Over the years, many parent/carers have really appreciated these fun and informative sessions which have enabled them to be confident in supporting their child.

Family Learning sessions are still offered throughout the year which continue to provide this important opportunity for our parent/carers and school working partnership.

We wish Marion all the best and hope she enjoys caring for her grandchild. We're sure that she will be keeping in touch with school.

Last week the Year 1 children were busy creating junk model Dinosaurs! They thought about all of the features discussed during our topic lessons and tried to recreate these on their models. This afternoon Parents/Carers had the chance to come and see the fantastic models.

Thank you for all those who came along and for donating all of the junk for the children to use.

Have fun looking at the photos below.

  • Parent/Carer Multi-Sports Event

    Fri 24 Mar 2017

A big thank you to all of the Parents/Carers who came along to the multi-sports session on Friday. It was a fast flowing, energetic activity which tested the skills of both pupils and grownups!

The children had the chance to showcase their skills which they had gained over the previous multi-sports sessions.

Balance, co-ordination and agility were some of skills demonstrated.

Have a look at the activities below.

  • Tea, Treats and Talk

    Fri 24 Mar 2017

Thank you to everyone who supported the Tea, Treats and Talk event. This was the first time that we have held an event like this and it was good to see so many parents/carers and members of the community in the hall enjoying a cup of tea and a chat!

Cakes were on sale and the Catering staff as you can see from the photographs had worked very hard. What a wonderfully tempting selection they provided!

Let us know what you  thought by using Guestbook. We would like to know if you would be interested in us holding an event like this again.

  • Red Nose Day

    Fri 24 Mar 2017

Everyone was invited to wear a Red Nose to assembly today in support of the Comic Relief Charity day. Red Noses were on sale from school but it was a lucky dip as to which character you got.

The children found out about the charity fund raising and enjoyed spotting who was wearing which Red Nose.

Well done to everyone for having fun wearing your Red Noses but still remembering the Golden Rules!
