• Year 1 Family Picnic

  Yesterday, many of the Year 1 families joined us for a 'Welcome to Year 1' picnic! Being spared of getting wet, we enjoyed eating and playing in the Trim Trail and having the opportunity to reconnect with each other after so long. 

   

  Afterwards, children enjoyed showing their families the Year 1 classrooms and pointing out some of the resources and displays that are used to support learning during the day!

   

  It was lovely to see so many attending the picnic. Thank you to those who were able to join us and give us as teachers another little 'normal' experience!

  

• Year 2 Banquet 2021

  What a wonderful first week back for Year 2 pupils! We kick-started our Dungeons and Dragons topic for this half term with an introduction to the different types of people who would be found in a castle and learned about the development of castle designs. Last week all Year 2 pupils made preparations for a royal class banquet used to inspire and captivate their imagination. Pupils made rather professional looking bread loaves! Having learnt about traditional medieval music, pupils practised their courtly dancing ready to perform during the banquet.

   

  All Lords and Ladies in each class stood to welcome their King and Queen and were only allowed to sit down at the banqueting tables when they were given permission to do so. Medieval music was played to set the mood. The food served included delicious rustic looking bread, a selection of grapes, cheese cubes, blackcurrant juice to replicate mead for the Lords and Ladies but wine for the King and Queen in goblets. The guests were impressed with their feast and the King and Queen equally impressed with the table manners of their invited guests. Following the banquet, the entertainment included a hilarious pair of clumsy jesters who tried their hardest to throw and catch a ball! Dancing groups performed their graceful routines.

   

  Thank you for being such amazing Year 2 pupils this week, you have worked very hard and made our class banquets memorable.

   

  

• Year 2 Family Picnic 2021

  This evening, many of the Year 2 pupils and their families came and enjoyed a picnic and play in the trim trail. The weather was perfect and plenty of tasty and healthy food was eaten. After the opportunity to meet other families in Year 2, there was the chance for pupils to show their families around the Year 2 Sunbeam Base and meet the Year 2 team. Thank you to all Year 2 families that were able to attend this event! It was so lovely to be able to do this again and meet you all face to face.
