  • Year 1 Church Visit

    Thu 25 Jan 2018

This afternoon Year 1 enjoyed a visit to Saint John's Church. We took part in lots of fun activities including: decorating a cross; finding out about a baptism; learning about a Holy Communion and we sang some songs with actions. All the children followed the Golden Rules and their behaviour was excellent.

Thank you to Mrs Berry and the other adults for organising such fantastic educational visit.

  • Watoto Children's Choir

    Tue 23 Jan 2018

This morning, Year 2 were invited to Westfield Junior School for a special performance by the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda.

Watoto work’s throughout Uganda caring for children who have been orphaned through a variety of circumstances. Each child is cared for and attends school in one of the Watoto villages of which they have a number throughout Uganda.

The performance was organised by St John's Church and a few favourite songs from the full concert were sung at the Junior School. It was a lively and enjoyable performance and all our children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, joining in with actions. It was lovely to see that, even after the loss of a loved one, choir still had plenty to smile and sing about.

There are further performances for all the family at St John's Church tonight (Tuesday 23rd) and tomorrow (Wednesday 24th), starting at 7pm. These are totally free to attend but booking is advised:

  • Pondicherry News

    Fri 12 Jan 2018

Today in assembly the School Council presented Phil Nevett with a cheque for £643.

Mr Nevett talked to us and told us how this is the last bit of money needed to build a new classroom at St Mathias School in Pondicherry.  Sister Rose has written to him and said that the building will start in the summer holidays and the classroom should be completed by the time all the pupils return to school.

A HUGE thank you to all the parents/carers who attended the Christmas Plays and helped us to raise this money.

  • WISA New Year Disco

    Wed 10 Jan 2018

Tonight after school the children had the opportunity to attend our New Year school disco organised by WISA! It gave everyone the chance to wear all the lovely clothes they had for Christmas and we saw some very exciting flashing and sparkling outfits and even shoes that flashed. This all made it a very colourful disco dancing display!

B.J. the D.J. provided another great disco for us. A big thank you to the WISA team for once again sorting out the drinks and biscuits we enjoyed before the Disco started.

Well done to all the children for behaving so well. Have a look at the photographs to see if you can see yourself.

Which song that played was your favourite?
