  • Assembly - 20 December 2013

    Fri 20 Dec 2013

Today was our last assembly of the term and what an exciting assembly it was!  We had just finished singing Jingle Bells when we had a wonderful surprise, Mrs MacLauchlan, Mrs Leeson and Mrs Fox appeared on the big screen and spoke to us all the way from India!  We sang Jingle Bells to them again (Brumas seemed to like that) and then We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Mrs MacLauchlan had left a letter with Mrs Dakin that she didn't want us to see until today so Mrs Dakin read it out to us.  It was amazing news!  Santa had asked Mrs MacLauchlan to let us know about some exciting presents that will be delivered in the New Year.  A climbing wall for the Trim Trail, a Theatre for the playground and a new outdoor cabin for Class 7's playground.

Mrs MacLauchlan asked us to try and remember how lucky we are at Christmas here and to remember that there are children in India who won't have very much at all at Christmas.  It was then time to say goodbye!  Happy Christmas Mrs MacLauchlan, Mrs Leeson and Mrs Fox!

We then drew the raffle (please see the A-Frame for the winning numbers) - well done to the winners!

After a rousing version of When Santa got Stuck up the Chimney it was time to finish.  Happy Christmas to all!

Mrs Dakin presented the children who had attended the Textile Club with certificates and showed some of the fantastic work they had done there, it was really beautiful.

Finally the Bear Certificates were given out.  What a lot of hardworking children there have been over the last week, the Bear Book was completely full!  Well done everyone!

  • Years 1 and 2 Christmas Party

    Thu 19 Dec 2013

Today Years 1 and 2 had their Christmas Party.  They played lots of fun games in the hall and Class 8 showed them how to do the dance from the Christmas Play (it wouldn't be a Christmas party without some Cliff Richard!)

When we were all worn out from dancing and playing we sat down to do some singing and had a very special visitor!  Father Christmas!  He gave each class a present and we sang him some songs and gave him a present too, he seemed very pleased!

After presents everyone went back to their classrooms to have some party food and another visit from Santa - what a lovely afternoon!

More lovely singing this afternoon as we sang some Christmas songs.  The teachers put on an Oscar winning performance of The Twelve Days of Christmas - bravo!

The hard working kitchen staff came out and were presented with flowers for always cooking such lovely dinners (especially todays) and the children all said thank you and sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas!

    Tue 17 Dec 2013

Today Reception had their Christmas Party and what a fantastic time they had!

They played some games in the hall, musical bumps, pass the parcel and musical statues and behaved beautifully.  Then, so they could have a bit of a rest we sat down to do some singing, but we had the most amazing surprise visitor!  Each class received a special present from Father Christmas, how exciting!

The classes then went back to their classrooms for some yummy snacks and Santa came round and visited them all.  What a lovely afternoon!
