  • A Fond Farewell to Mr Maksymiw

    Fri 16 Dec 2022

On Wednesday the whole school met together to say 'Goodbye' to Mr Maksymiw! He is moving on from teaching to 'pastures new' and it's true to say - he will be greatly missed by us all. Mr Maksymiw trained as a teacher at Westfield Infant School and has been with us for 14 years! Mr Maksymiw told us that he had thoroughly enjoyed teaching at Westfield and that this school is a very special place.

A heart-felt thank you from all of us at Westfield Infant School - children and staff - past and present. You have inspired us with your fun teaching and made us all laugh at some point! Thank you for all your hard work and commitment over the past 14 years. We wish you well on your new adventure and trust you will be very happy.

Mr Squires presented Mr Maksymiw with a coveted Westfield Bear which we are sure he will treasure.

  • Year 2 Christmas Party

    Fri 16 Dec 2022

Wow! What a wonderful afternoon Year 2 had on Wednesday at their Christmas Party.

We did lots of dancing and singing to Christmas songs. It was also great to see each class perform their Christmas dance. Who's dance was your favourite?

We even had a special visit from Santa Claus! He told us how busy he was going to be during Christmas Eve and that we all had to make sure we were fast asleep before he came to visit.

Santa gave each class a fantastic gift; a huge bundle of books! We are so lucky that we get to update our book corners with fiction and non-fiction books.

We played a great game of pass the parcel whilst also dancing to some recognisable Christmas songs.

A great party had by all! Well done Year 2 for amazing behaviour.

  • Year 1 Christmas Party

    Tue 13 Dec 2022

This afternoon, Year 1 enjoyed their Christmas party! With lots of dancing, the children did not disappoint with their best moves!

After a game of musical statues, we had a played pass the parcel (with plenty of layers too!).

Before the party was done, a special visitor came to see all of the children in Year 1 - Santa! He told us about his reindeer and we even helped him remember the names of some of them too.

We sang to Santa and wished him a Merry Christmas - he was blown away with our singing!

Santa had kindly bought some early presents for each class, brand new books for our book corners - something to enjoy throughout the rest of Year 1!

We were reminded to get to bed early on Christmas Eve and to listen to the adults in charge (so we stay on the 'Good List').

Back in class, we enjoyed a biscuit and drink. A fab party that REALLY got us in the mood for Christmas!

  • Year 2 Recorder Performance

    Fri 02 Dec 2022

What a wonderful performance the Year 2 Recorder Club did for Year 1 and 2 this morning. It was great to see how much they had learnt during the after school club with Mrs Parkes.

We all enjoyed listening to the many songs they had learning including Hot Cross Buns. What song was your favourite?

We are all so proud of how well you have taken on this new skill. What instruments might you take on next?
