  • Mablethorpe Assembly

    Thu 30 Jun 2016

This morning the Year 2 pupils had the opportunity to tell everyone about the exciting trip to Mablethorpe they enjoyed last week. We heard all about the activities on the beach, the ride on the Beach Train, the trip to the Seal Sanctuary, lovely food, fun at bedtime and all the interesting learning that took place at the Lifeboat Station.

The day trippers also had an exciting time on the second day at the Hinckley Water Activities Training Centre.

All the children received a Certificate and a little treat and had the opportunity to say thank you to the staff for giving up so much time and energy to make the trip so successful.

  • Y1 and Y2 Football Tournament

    Thu 30 Jun 2016

Pupils from Year 1 and Year 2 have had the opportunity to take part in a football club after school throughout the year. Luke, the coach, has praised the pupils efforts and determination this year. I have also seen the improvements they have made regarding their ability and technique.

A football  tournament was held this week to celebrate the achievement of all the pupils who have attended the football club. All the pupils that took part played with enthusiasm, belief and great sportsmanship.

    Well done!

  • Year 1 Stoke Golding Trip

    Wed 29 Jun 2016

The Year 1 children had a fantastic day at Stoke Golding. They were able to use their learning from our Around the World topic to discuss the features of a village as they observed their surroundings.

We walked around with the friends we made from St Margaret's Primary School and had our lunch together.

Despite the rain the children were very enthusiastic at what they saw and still had a great time. Well done Year 1 on your brilliant attitude and behaviour on another trip!

  • Mablethorpe Residential Trip

    Mon 27 Jun 2016

On Thursday 23rd  June, the Year 2 children set off to Mablethorpe for an exciting, activity-packed 2-day residential at the Mablethorpe Leicestershire Children's Centre. The journey was long, but games made the time pass quickly.

Arriving safely, and having a quick snack, the children quickly made their way to the beach for games and paddling.

"I loved building sandcastles with Ethan" Russell

"I enjoyed going in the sea and splashing Tilly!" Brooke

The sand train journey to the Seal sanctuary was amazing.

"It was like a rollercoaster and we got to go in the sea too!"

The children enjoyed seeing the variety of animals and wildlife at the sanctuary.

"It was funny when the seal fell out of the pool because he smelt food" Layla

After a gentle walk back to the centre, the children enjoyed a cooked dinner, hot chocolate and a film before bed.

"Tilly and I pretended to be asleep when Mrs Parkes came into the room. When she left, we went onto each other's beds and drew pictures" Brooke

In the morning, after a tasty breakfast, we all set off along the beach and promenade, looking out for physical and human features of the seaside.

"I spotted some crab's legs lying on the beach. The colourful beach huts are human features" Layla.

The RNLI Centre helpfully showed us around the rescue boats and we watched a film explaining the important work that the RNLI do around the coast of the UK.

"They have a white flare that fires 300m into the air so they can see at night" Layla.

After a final play at the centre's adventure playground and a final photograph, we all boarded the coach and set off home, some were a little sleepier than others!

"I saw my mummy as I got back to school and I was happy" Bethany.

  • Hinckley Water Activity Centre

    Fri 24 Jun 2016

What a brilliant day we had at the Hinckley Water Activity Centre. We began the day with our snack and set into groups to complete the activities. This included circus skills, paddling and searching for fish in the bell boat. Some children even jumped in the pit!!!

Everyone's behaviour was fantastic and they listened to all the adults well.

Thank you to Steve and Ernest for a great day... luckily we arrived back in school just in time for the rain!

Mrs Parkes introduced them and they played 5 songs, showing how they have progressed from playing with just the note B to being able to play three different notes!

They played B Groovy, B Really Groovy, Swimming in the Sea, Stripy Cat Crawl and Jazzamataz.
