• Food For Life Bronze Award ceremony

  The School Nutrition Action Group (SNAG) had a wonderful day at  Cattows Farm receiving their Food For Life Bronze Award as well as our Healthy School Enhanced Status Award. We did a presentation to 19 schools to tell them about our fantastic progress at Westfield Infant School. We told them about our gardening plots, our lovely dining hall with music and everyone LOVED the times tables plates. The children spoke so clearly and confidently, we were so proud of them! We then had a fabulous day having a tractor ride, a farm tour where we met the cows and sheep as well as seeing lots of crops and we went strawberry picking! Max even had the opportunity to make a smoothie which was recorded live on Radio Leicester, the show was live just after 2pm so go to Radio Leicester and have a listen to the podcast!

   

  As we are ever striving to build on our good practice we have already begun work on our Silver Food For Life Award so I hope you're all ready and enthusiastic to get involved with more growing and cooking in the next academic year!
