  • Recorder Assembly

    Fri 07 Feb 2014

Today the Recorder Group treated us all to a concert.  They played 5 songs.  Mrs Parkes explained how the group learned to play the recorder and how the first note they learn to play is B.  The children played us BB Blues and it was lovely.  They also played How About That? (which uses the notes A and B), Chicken Cluck Waddle and Hot Cross Buns (which use the notes A, B and G) and then very excitedly they played Got the EBGB's which uses FOUR notes (E,A,B and G).

Everyone in the group played really well and got a certificate to show they had been part of the Recorder Group.

  • Year 2 First Aid Afternoon

    Thu 06 Feb 2014

Year 2 had a great afternoon learning about first aid. We used what they had learnt earlier in the week to put a person in the recovery position, remembering parts such as calling for help and checking the area around the person is safe.
We also used a mannequin to restart a persons heart if they have stopped breathing.
Finally we learnt the signs to spot if someone was having a stroke or a heart attack. Remember F A S T - Face, Arms, Speech, Time/Test/Telephone.

Everyone in Year 2 worked really hard for the whole afternoon, well done!!

  • New Playground Equipment

    Tue 04 Feb 2014

At last we have had a sunny day so that we can show everyone our new playground equipment:

    • Class 7 are enjoying using a new Outdoor Shelter in the enclosed playground
    • We now have a Westfield Theatre where some children can perform in front of an audience!
    • Finally we have got a very exciting climbing wall at the end of the Trim Trail

As you can see from the photographs the children are thoroughly enjoying using this new equipment.
