After a delicious meal with jelly and ice cream, an evening visit to the beach for more games and some time in the dorm, the children were treated to a warm mug of hot chocolate and a biscuit before we all gathered together to watch a film. Settling to sleep, children were excellent with minimal disturbances. Well done children!
In the morning, we all topped up our energy levels with a great breakfast ready for a beach walk to the RNLI station. Along the way, we were able to spot physical and human features of the seaside including some colourful beach huts. At the Lifeboat station, we learnt about the two rescue boats and the special equipment on each boat used to help people in trouble in the water. One of the volunteers showed us the uniform, which he told us takes only 45 seconds to put on. How quick they must be! The beach lifeguard reminded us of the importance of looking for the red and yellow flags when paddling in the sea and he shared some of the special equipment he uses including the rescue board that can be used to rescue over 16 people at a time!
After a gentle walk back along the beach, we enjoyed a tasty lunch prepared by the ladies at the centre and had a final play on the beach. Before leaving, we squeezed in a 'Happy Birthday' for Miss Johnson and had a cupcake to celebrate the occasion. The coach journey home was quieter as some children began their catch up of sleep.
Well done to all the children for super behaviour and making the most of this exciting opportunity before moving on to your junior schools. A massive thank you to Mrs MacLauchlan, Mrs Babic and all staff who were able to attend.
It was great to see the children and their grown ups enjoying the final session of Multi-Sports for this academic Year. The children have worked so hard to develop their skills in a range of activities and have really enjoyed each and every session. Well done children!
A big thank you to Ben the Multi-Sports coach for making each session fantastic and ensuring the club was so much fun to be part of!
The Year 2 day trip children have had a fantastic time at the Wharf today. All the children demonstrated great enthusiasm and energy throughout the day as they took part in 3 different water based activities.
The 3 activities were all on the lake and included kayaking, canoeing and bell-boating. Mr Burrows, Mrs Ratcliffe and Ernest taught the children the correct techniques, how to be safe on the water and new skills. All of which enabled the children to develop with each and every activity.
A huge well done to all the children on the Wharf trip for their super behavior and excellent attitudes.
Please have a look through the photos!
What a wonderful day we have had at Mablethorpe. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much and made the most of every opportunity!!
We had a fantastic time in the sea; everyone enjoyed splashing each other and getting very wet! We also built sandcastles and played football on the beach.
After lunch we got the sand train along the beach (even going into the sea!) to the Seal Sanctuary where we saw the meercats and seals being fed. There were lots of different animals at the sanctuary; can you tell your grownup what you saw?
Well done to all the children today for your fantastic behaviour you should be so proud of yourselves!
And they're off !
The children from Year 2 on the Mablethorpe visit arrived very excited this morning. They placed their bags in the hall, said their good byes to their grown ups and made their way to the classrooms. Once all the children had arrived it was time to board the coach and wave good bye to the grown ups!
They are due to arrive in Mablethorpe around 10:30 and the fun will begin!
We hope you enjoyed the Year 1 carnival assembly. The children relished the opportunity to share all the learning that has taken place this topic with their grown-ups.
The assembly included dancing, singing, poetry, artwork, models and playing musical instruments. We also shared the exciting things we did on our recent trip to the Wharf.
Once again a big thank you to all the Parents/Carers for allowing them to go on the wonderful trip to the Wharf.
Well done to all the Year 1 children for all there hard work!
Thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fayre on Friday evening. The weather stayed dry so most of the WISA stalls were outside and as you can see from the photographs everyone had a great time!
A list of the prize winners from the Grand Raffle can be found at the Community Centre, Westfield Junior School or Westfield Infant School. If you are one of the lucky winners you can collect your prize from the office at Westfield Infant School.
All the money raised from the event will be used to improve the resources for the Westfield community. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, purchased raffle tickets, helped set up and pack away and of course to those who came to the Summer Fayre and spent money on the stalls.
A special well done to the children who performed in the Country Dancing display! You did very well to remember all the moves and we were very proud of you!
