  • Letterbox Books

    Tue 07 Nov 2017

Last week we had two visitors Cathy and Jeena from London who came to find out about the Letterbox Gang and the orange envelopes of books that we regularly have delivered.

Our visitors were able to see an assembly when the Letterbox Gang received their latest parcel. They also spoke to Mrs MacLauchlan and the children to find out about what everyone thinks to the books and other lovely resources in the orange packets.

Mrs Saunders invited some parents to come in and discuss the Letterbox Project so they also had the opportunity to share their views about how the packs are used at home and what they think to the idea of the children bringing the orange envelopes home.

It was a very busy day and as a thank you we were told we would receive some books.

However imagine our surprise this week when a number of boxes full of lovely books arrived! As you can see from the photographs the children were very excited!

Thank You to Steve, Cathy and Jeena for sending us the lovely selection of books!!

  • Year 2 Street Detectives Walk

    Mon 06 Nov 2017

Today pupils from Year 2 became 'Street Detectives' as we walked around the local area near our school.

We looked at various features of the locality and decided if they were Physical or Human features.

We talked about the types of houses we passed as well as different land uses - parks, shops and industry.

Child can you be 'Street Detectives' on your route to school? Talk to your grown ups about any Human Features and Physical features that you can see.

  • Year 2 Family Roast Dinner

    Thu 02 Nov 2017

It was lovely today to see so many adults joining the Year 2 pupils for a Family Roast Dinner. The children who did not have visitors enjoyed a meal with members of staff.

There were a lot of positive comments as everyone tucked into a lovely dinner. A big thank you to all the Catering Staff who worked very hard to make sure there was enough to go round.

The rest of the school  also had a treat as they enjoyed a Class Picnic. Eating a picnic together as a class is something the children often request and we were lucky enough with the weather today that most classes were able to eat outside.

As you can see from the photographs below everyone enjoyed a lovely lunchtime today.

  • Class 6 - Bonfire Night Assembly

    Thu 02 Nov 2017

Class 6 hope you enjoyed our assembly about Bonfire Night. There were some really important safety messages included in the assembly and the children did a fantastic job of informing everyone of these messages.

It is great to see that everyone is back at school this week after having a fun and safe weekend. It is obvious they used their good listening skills!

Please have a look through the photos at the fantastic effort all the children in class 6 made!

    Thank you !
