  • Magical Maths

    Fri 13 May 2016

Today we had a special visitor to our assembly called Professor Poopenshtinken! The Professor claims to be the most clever mathematician in the world but the children did not seem convinced!

The Professor told us about a special club that will be taking place after half term for 6 weeks. Some children have been given the opportunity to attend the club and they will learn some fantastic things.

They will learn how to calculate impossible numbers in their head, read minds, play maths sport and solve unbelievable puzzles..... all with the power of Mathematics!

If you have been invited and you would like to join the club please return your slip promptly. If the club goes well there might be the opportunity for other children to attend the club next academic year

  • Father Dominic

    Wed 11 May 2016

In December 2013 Mrs MacLauchlan, Mrs Leeson, Mrs Fox and Brumas Bear went on a visit to India. They spent the first 2 days in Chennai where they were met by Father Dominic who showed them round and made them all feel very welcome.

Today Father Dominic visited Westfield Infant School and we were able to return his hospitality. The School Council met Father Dominic, Mr Nevett, Mr Childs and Margaret. We all had lunch together and then the School Council showed Father Dominic all round the school. He was most impressed.

During assembly we found out about some of the differences between the schools in India and Westfield Infant School. Father Dominic was very keen to thank everyone at Westfield Infant School for the support  that we have been able to give to the pupils in Pondicherry over the last few years.

We also presented Father Dominic with his own Westfield Bear and some elastics for the children at St Mathias Primary School to play with on their new playground.

  • WISA May Disco

    Fri 06 May 2016

What started off as the WISA May Day Disco ended up as a disco to celebrate the success of Leicester City Football Club!

The children all had a great time at the Disco and the event raised over £600 for WISA funds.

Thank you to B.J. the D.J. and those who helped with the event.

  • Class 4 Wharf Trip

    Tue 03 May 2016

Class 4 thoroughly enjoyed our day out at the Wharf. Mr Burrows and the team had a variety of fun activities set up for us and kept us busy all day.

We went along the canal on a bell boat, learnt and perfected a selection of circus skills, sketched pictures of the fantastic surroundings and completed an alphabet hunt. The weather was kind to us and the sun was shining for most of the day.

A big well done to all the children for their great behaviour and enthusiasm!
