  • Year 2 Christmas Party

    Fri 15 Dec 2017

This afternoon, Year 2 had their exciting Christmas party. We played games and enjoyed dancing to some of the songs from our Christmas Performance before having a surprise visit from Santa! He was very jolly and kindly gave out class presents. Santa loved joining in with a dance and festive singing. In our classrooms, we enjoyed a tasty treat and listened carefully to Santa. He told us to be in bed and asleep at a sensible time on Christmas Eve as he is very busy visiting all the houses around the world! Well done children, great behaviour during the afternoon and a huge 'thank you' to all the grown-ups for sending in food, you helped make it all possible.

Enjoy having a look at the photos below!

  • Year 1 Christmas Party

    Thu 14 Dec 2017

Today was Year 1’s Christmas party. Everyone had so much fun, we even got to meet Santa! We were crafty and made our own party hats and placemats. We headed down to the hall to start our action packed afternoon which included: Pass the parcel; Stations and Christmas dancing from the school play. Our special visitor arrived (Who do you think that might be?) and we sang him some festive songs and even treated him to a dance! He kindly gave out presents to all of the classes and reminded us how busy he is this time of year.

Finally we headed back down to our classrooms to enjoy our Christmas Tea. We listened to Christmas music as we ate our party food, Santa even came down and paid a special visit to each of the Year 1 classes.

Thank you to all the grown-ups for sending in food, you helped make it all possible.

Please have a look at the photos below!

  • Year 2 Singing at the Community Centre

    Wed 13 Dec 2017
Year 2 pupils made all the teachers feel very proud with their wonderful singing at Westfield Community Centre today. They sang a collection of songs from the Year 1/Year 2 Christmas Play to the Westfield Age Concern group and a group of children from Westfield Nursery. This was followed by the traditional Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas which everyone was able to join in with. As usual the ladies and gentlemen helped out with jingling the bells and this year we had some little help too! David Roberts from the Community Centre thanked Westfield Infant School for their generous contribution raised during our Harvest Festival to help fund the Christmas Dinner. Well done Year 2

    Mon 11 Dec 2017

We apologise once again for the school being closed to pupils on Monday 11 December. It was a very difficult decision to make. Staff have been in school all day and as well as ensuring that the paths are clear and ready for the children to return tomorrow we have also got a lot of useful jobs done.

Westfield Junior School have asked us to inform you that the Top Yard/Playground  will not be open until further notice. It is considered a Health and Safety risk so families who normally access the Infant School that way will need to walk along the side of the Junior School through the staff car park (please take great care.) There is a footpath from the end of the car park that will take you to the Community Centre so you can still get to the Infant School.

We realise that it could be a very cold night with a heavy, icy frost on Tuesday morning. Please do your best to get the children to school by the normal time of 9.00 a.m. However if children are late due to weather related problems we will not give them a late mark, we will just be delighted to see them.

For those children who normally come Breakfast Club will operate as usual from 8.00 a.m. We have a performance of the Reception Play that is due to start at 10.00 a.m.

  • Christmas Family Disco

    Fri 01 Dec 2017

It’s been such a great night tonight at the Christmas Family Disco! Lots of brilliant dancing took place from both the children and their Grownups! It was so good to see so many familiar friendly Westfield family faces enjoying themselves. Many of you looked like you were enjoying the hot dogs and cakes too!

Thank you to everyone who came to support the disco and we hope you had a fantastic time!

Congratulations to everyone who won prizes in the raffle!

What a way to start Christmas!

  • Christmas Fayre

    Fri 01 Dec 2017

Yesterday was our Christmas Fayre.  As you can see from the photographs there were lots of lovely stalls selling everything from wooden toys to cakes! There was even a special visitor! (Thank you for taking some time out of your VERY busy schedule).

A big thanks to all the stallholders who helped to make this Christmas Fayre a success and a big thank you to everyone who attended and helped to support the school.
