  • Blunderbus - My Pet Monster

    Wed 15 Jun 2016

What a fantastic time the whole school had watching Blunderbus perform the story of 'My Pet Monster and Me' today!

We met Sophie Bucket, her Granny and Arthur who all lived at Mulberry Farm. Can you remember what jobs they had to do on the farm?

Sophie was a happy girl but she wanted a pet - Can you remember what her Granny always said?

One day a box arrived with some special instructions! Tell your grown ups what happened next and what made the monster grow!

After the performance, Year 2 enjoyed a workshop with the actors and were given the opportunity to ask interesting questions and share our favourite part.

If your grown ups could not make the performance but would like to know more about today - there is a handout packed with activities to do at home available at reception.

  • Year 1 and Year 2 Commemorative Plates

    Fri 10 Jun 2016
Year 1 and 2 had an amazing time today decorating their very own plates to commemorate HRH Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday. Selina shared with all pupils the difference between  the two paintbrushes they could use. Every plate was uniquely designed with regal and patriotic colours to support British Values. The plates will remain in school for a week until all pupils have had the opportunity to see everyone's creative work.
  • Picnic for the Queen

    Thu 09 Jun 2016

Today the whole school celebrated HRH Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday with a picnic on the field.  We were extremely lucky to have such wonderful weather and everyone enjoyed their special picnic boxes that were decorated with the British Flag and filled with lots of delicious food.  Nearly all the children had ice-cream for pudding, which also had the British Flag in it! (Thank you Mrs MacLauchlan).

After everyone had eaten we said a big ‘Hip hip hooray’ to the Queen and then enjoyed the extra treat of a playtime on the field!

Well done to everyone for such fantastic behaviour that helped make a very special dinnertime even more special!

This is a great reminder to everyone of the importance of British Values and celebrating everything that is British.

  • Year 1 Carnival Assembly

    Thu 09 Jun 2016

In Year 1 we have really enjoyed our 'Around the World' topic. We learnt all about countries from around the world, including England, Brazil, Australia and many others.

It was great to have the opportunity to perform an assembly to the rest of the school and to show our grown ups all the fun and interesting learning we have been doing in our WOW Work folders!
