After school, Year 1 children celebrated Father's Day with lots of exciting activities. Challenges included building a den using a range of natural materials. Dens were put to the test due to unforeseen 'rain' leaving a few members rather wet! Another challenge was to save Robin Hood's Merry Men using archery skills. The final challenge was based on trust as children and adults were led around the blind trail.
All adults and children had a fantastic time and enjoyed a hot dog and drink at the end.
Thank you to all those able to attend!
Well done to those who took part in the Fathers Day Event at Burbage Common.
A lot of fun was had by both children and adults!
Have a look through the photos below to see all the different activities we did!
A big thank you to Mr Burrows and Ernest for all their help.
Wow!
I am so impressed with the effort and sportsmanship shown by the Year 2's at the St Margaret's Football Tournament today.
Once again the weather was kind and it was the perfect end to a fantastic week of sport at Westfield Infant School!
Class 7 had a brilliant day in the sunshine. We all enjoyed our activities about 'We're going on a Bear Hunt'.
Thank you to all parents/carers who came along to make the day such a success.
This afternoon Year 1 children visited The United Reform Church in Hinckley. The children enjoyed the walk to the Church in the lovely, sunny weather and were welcomed by Rev. Malcolm Clarke. Malcolm told us about the history of the building and the types of things you find in churches.
Can you remember the name of the special table at the front of the church?
Can you remember what they fitted to the windows during the war?
We were amazed to find out that the organ had over 2000 pipes! After learning all about the Church we got to have a look around and we saw all of the old pews upstairs on the balcony. We all enjoyed coming down the spiral staircase!
A big thank you to Rev. Malcolm Clarke and Mrs Clarke for showing us the Church and telling us lots of interesting facts.
Also a big well done to all the Year 1 pupils for fantastic behaviour.
What a fantastic sunny evening!
Thank you all for coming along and taking part in our Active Stations event. It was great to see so many families there and putting so much effort into the activities.
We manage to raise over 70.00 for the British Heart Foundation - Well done to everyone!
What a fantastic Sports Morning!
A huge well done to all the pupils at Westfield Infant School for trying their hardest and having such a great sporting attitude. It was good to see everyone enjoying themselves and having fun.
The shining sun and refreshing breeze made for a glorious morning. Thank you to all the parents, carers and families for coming along to support your child. The cheering and clapping created an encouraging atmosphere that clearly spurred the children on to do their best!

Don't forget our exciting Active Stations event. Fun for all the family! 5:00pm - 6:00pm Westfield Junior School field.
Bring a healthy picnic along too.
Wow, even the sunshine was out for us today!
All the children and adults shared a picnic on the field with their class. The children were impeccably behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the healthy picnic, chatting with their friends.
Thank you to all the children, adults and catering staff for making it such a successful, happy event.
