Year 2 Fathers Day/Male Carers Celebration Burbage Common

What a great day some of the Year 2 children had today at Burbage Common with their Fathers/Male Carers.

As you can see from the photographs there were lots of different activities to do and everyone behaved beautifully.

When we first arrived Steve Burrows gave a safety talk and explained we would be building shelters. We were split into 3 groups and given the same amount of resources each. As you can see all the shelters turned out very differently. Throughout the day each group got to experience pond dipping with Mrs Ratcliffe, team games with Ernest and orienteering with Steve Burrows. At lunch time Steve made a fire on which we popped popcorn, boiled nettle tea and toasted marshmallows! It was super!

The effort and energy put into each activity by both parents/carers and children was great and really made the day one to remember. A big thank you to Steve Burrows, Mrs Ratcliffe and Ernest for planning and delivering such a fun filled day for all.
