On Tuesday 13th September, children all over the country celebrated Roald Dahl's 100th birthday.
Westfield Infant children in Year 1 and Year 2 had a special afternoon completing exciting activities linked to just a handful of the many books that Roald Dahl wrote over his lifetime for children, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and the Minpins. Towards the end of the afternoon, there was an opportunity for children to explore the activities in different classrooms. We also took a tour of the hall and main entrance, appreciating the hard work put in by children across the school to create our 'Roald Dahl 100th birthday' displays.
Roald Dahl has left a legacy of exciting, magical books for all children and adults to enjoy. Look out for them in the school library and local libraries so you too can meet some of the weird and wonderful characters including James, Mr Twit, the BFG and the girl who simply loved to read, Matilda!
