Friendship Afternoon

To celebrate anti-bullying week 2013 Westfield Infant School held a friendship afternoon. During this afternoon pupils had the oportunity to make friends with pupils from different classes and year groups. All pupils were encouraged to think about the saying "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" and whether or not it was true. We thought about the hurt caused by using unkind words and how important it was to say kind words. Pupils then had lots of fun with a new friend completing activities such as making a bear with a curly tongue with kind words on, making a friendship firework, a friendship garden, decorating a biscuit with a freind, constructing, playing games and even working together to use an iPad. A great afternoon was had by all and the children all agreed that pupils at Westfield Infant School use kind words.
