Harvest Festival

This morning the Year 1 and 2 pupils enjoyed a special Harvest Assembly. The children sang beautifully and were aided by singing and signing. The choir also performed for the first time this academic year and sounded as if they had been singing together for years! Class 10 performed a welcome dance and song, Class 9 performed a play about the importance of healthy eating and Class 8 told us about an exciting charity event on Monday 12 December when we can wear a Christmas Sweater to make the world better! All the Year 1 pupils had worked very hard to learn a Harvest Poem that they recited to us.

Well done everyone and thank you to all the parents/carers and friends of the school who sent in harvest gifts and purchased raffle tickets.

The total raised was £272.68. This will be presented to members of The Westfield Branch of Age Concern and will be used to make sure they all have a fantastic Christmas dinner when they meet on Wednesday 17 December. Year 2 will also be going over to the Community Centre to sing to the members on that day!
